Since completing a Masters in Performance in 1992 under Russell Hartenberger he has followed many diverse interests in his musical journey. He just finished a four year ride as a featured percussionist in the Toronto production of The Lion King.
He has performed around the world with John Wyre’s Heartbeat World Drum Ensemble as well as the Evergreen Club Gamelan who have performed in Lisbon, Hanover, London, Kyoto and across Canada. In 1999 his contemporary music theatre trio Zebra Schvungk took first prize at the Autumn New Music Festival.
His interest in African music continues to be expressed through the Kekeli Drum and Dance Ensemble and in many workshops given across the country. Andy can be heard on many films and recordings including performing, recording and arranging for cabaret sensation Patricia O'Callaghan.
His freelance activities include facing musical adventures with the likes of the Toronto Symphony, The Esprit Orchestra, Array Music, The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir, Nexus and Tapestry New Opera Works for whom he is a percussionist as well as artist-in- residence for their education program Inside Opera.
