Both
my formal and informal training in life has led me to where I am today… a
seeker of truth, a teacher and healer. More accurately, life's venue has
enabled me to consider myself a lifelong student, my teachings deriving from
the wonderful people I have been fortunate enough to encounter and help.
It is through my participation and role here at Tanglefoot Lodge that I wish
continue this journey of teaching and learning, if only by providing a warm
& peaceful place where people may heal, learn and relax. Through
my younger years my love for the arts, music, writing and athletics has kept
me connected to my quest for inner peace, and eventually led me to the
exploration of what life is and what it means to be human. Though
I have practiced Yoga for over 10 years, it is in the past three years that I
have fully integrated yoga into my life and started truly exploring the
connection of Yoga and life itself.
My
most influential training comes from 3 main sources. First, an intense Yoga
Teachers Training Course, taken here at Tanglefoot Lodge with my lifetime
teacher Russ Hazard. Second, is my training as a Thai Yoga Massage Therapist,
which helped me understand the process of assisting people through the
physical body. Third, is Vipassana Meditation, which is a major influence in
my own life and in the teachings here at the lodge.
I
draw my inspiration from my teachers, music, books and the vast world of
possibilities, but most importantly from my children, who are my greatest
teachers. This journey is for them. I am deeply dedicated to my practice
and continue to study the many paths of Yoga, with focus on cognitive studies,
Vipassana Meditation and Dream Yoga. These experiences have opened my
consciousness allowing me to start experiencing life to its
fullest…this is the changing factor in my life. I teach and practice
Yoga because it reminds me to live with love and truth and helps me continue
experiencing and understanding the greater purpose of life in order to be the
change that we seek to be.
