Mountain Rythym Drum Experience

Whether you are a long time drummer or just getting into percussion, this is an amazing opportunity! Mountain Rythym Drums and Tanglefoot Lodge have joined to create a truly unique weekend away. On this weekend you will have the opportunity to completely customize and finish your own Mountain Rythym Drum, while learning how to maintain it, tune it and play it at the same time! Meet the folks at Mountain Rythym, hang out, tour their workshop and learn from the masters!

You choose the type of drum you want, the size you want, and the wood you want. You are shown how to do all your customization as well as learning about how different building variables change the sound you get. You are taught to install your own heads and tune depending on the conditions and the type of sound you want. During down time we cover some technique and poly-rhythms with amazing musicians/facilitators like freelance percussionist Ray Dillard (Royal Conservatory of Music, Business Manager/NEXUS) and Ora Schwartz (Living Rythym). Did we mention the night-time drum circles, bonfires and chillin’ in the hot-tub with other drummers?

The weekend includes all materials, instruction, two nights accommodations, meals and use of the facilities. At the end of the weekend you walk away with your dream drum, which is a pure reflection of your own creativity…all at a really great price! How is that for SWEET!

You have several choices for the kind of drum you would like to make.  The Circle Series drums are for serious drummers, while the Custom Series drums are a professional, studio level drum.  Please visit www.mountainrythym.com for a full description of the drums.  You can also contact us for further information, or help in choosing your drum type and wood.

The cost for this weekend depends on the type of drum you want to customize, and the type of wood you require.  If you would like, you can choose to use exotic wood (purple heart or paduk) for an additional $50 (on top of the maple cost), or lacewood for an extra $100.  All prices listed do not include taxes (GST and PST).
